My year long goal is Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning. I want to manage clear procedures and routines that allow planning instruction and designing learning experiences for all, while adapting instruction and curriculum to meet assessed student needs. I kept this goal in mind as I worked my way through the cycles and other CSTP's. I have been able to design and implement comprehensive curriculum with multiple and varied instructional strategies. I use many resources to support in depth studies of content and promote high levels of student understanding. Beyond Induction I would like to continue to use technology in a meaningful way. I wanted to use technology to connect students to real world experiences subsequently, I came up with "Earth's Water". As we learned how to conserve and clean earth's water, students also participated in the making of a mini-documentary highlighting our findings. We conducted many scientific experiments, and as the film shows all students were engaged in the learning. To remain a connected educator I will continue to reach out to my peers and the community throughout my career. To sustain the energy it takes to be passionate about students, teaching, and learning I will continue to keep balance in my life. A quote from my reflective coach, "wow, you really get it, you try things other teachers do not try for years, this is what makes you one of the greats". Advice for other new teachers, always collaborate with your peers, get plenty of rest, enjoy your family time, and remember you are in the position to make a positive impact on the life of a child.
